Jewelry Care
How to Care
Remember that your jewelry should always be the last thing you put on when you dress up and the first thing you take off when you come home. Contact with lotions, cosmetics or perfumes is generally not good for jewellery items, as the chemicals can speed up the tarnishing process (never spray perfume directly onto your jewellery!). Take off your jewellery while working out, cleaning, gardening, showering, bathing or swimming in chlorinated or salt water.
How to Store
Store your jewels in a moisture-free, cool dry place. Humidity, sunlight and heat can cause oxidation, so ideally you should keep your loved items in our soft pouch and place them in a airtight jewelry box. And always store them separately to avoid scratches.
How to Clean
A general clean from time to time will help to keep your beloved Bruna jewellery looking exquisite and as good as new. We recommend one of the following: You can either use a mild soap and scrub lightly with a soft toothbrush and warm water. Rinse with water and air dry on a tissue afterwards. Or you can clean your jewellery with a cleaning cloth to remove dirt and premature tarnishing. Please keep in mind that there are different cloths for different kinds of metals. Gently polish your items but never over polish them as you may remove the plating.
Following our tips and storing and cleaning your items correctly will help to prevent discolouring and keep your jewellery looking shiny and beautiful for a long time. However, please note that all metals naturally oxidize with time and require maintenance. Additionally, factors such as the acidity of your skin or the way the jewellery has been looked after may result in a faster or slower tarnishing process.
